Overcoming Selfishness
Life and death have different aspects. And we don't mean about the external but about the inner aspect. Life and death are completely different processes and they are opposites. But, at the same time, they are united. Man can't be separated from the present, neither from eternity. But life can be integrated with death when the existence has a true and real purpose. These are not only words and metaphysical concepts or philosophies.
These are real facts that we need to discover and recognize so the existence does not become a fleeting dream but rather a reality who in front of the infinite spiritual presence can reach the merit of a really productive life to the service of Divine Love.
Since, by growing in humility, wisdom is achieved. And is also known that the mysteries of life and death have something in common : To be victorious in the path of Love, knowing the experience of spiritual love and the way of life of doing good as foundation of the action. And to see death, not as the end but as living hope and as faith in the love to God.
When the limits of selfishness have been transcended, death is then seen as the consummation of a sublimated selfishness. Because I am no longer the one who wants to be loved but the one who loves even beyond himself.
